China Sentences Notorious Burmese Fraud Syndicate Members to Death
One Chinese judicial body has sentenced several top individuals of a notorious Myanmar organized crime group to capital punishment as Beijing maintains its crackdown on scam networks in Southeast Asian region.
In all, twenty-one clan members and associates were sentenced of fraud, homicide, assault and other offenses, reported a official report released on the judicial website.
The family is among a small number of syndicates that rose to power in the early 2000s and changed the poor backwater town of the town into a lucrative hub of gambling establishments and red-light districts.
